Mangunje IGP Distribution Part 1

Translation:
The man in the video says is the father/guardian to Mangunje. He says he is grateful for the support the boy is receiving from the sponsors. He says the distribution of livestock to Mangunje will sustain his life. He said that he can not express in words just how grateful he is.  He is appealing to the sponsors to continue helping Mangunje since their contribution has already started yielding fruits. The man wished the sponsors more of God’s blessings.

Mangunje's Chicken Business

Chim asked the lady in the video what that round assembly was. She told him that it was shelter for the chickens Mangunje was looking after .He then asked the lady to tell him who made the shelter. The lady told him that Mangunje did make that shelter and the chickens sleep in there. She told him that the shelter is temporary as there is need to build something better which is spacious to accommodate more chickens.  However, to do this, there is a need for resources .She said a better shelter would be helpful even during the rainy season.  The old lady told him that Mangunje likes his livestock and really appreciates this support. She told him that Mangunje had a good hand in livestock keeping and would manage very well with these gifts he was given.

Christmas Distribution Post 9~ Video #3 Hanatonga and his wheelchair

Translation by Chim:
The lady was demonstrating how helpful the wheelchair will be including thanking the sponsors for the wheelchair and CHILDHOPE while pushing the wheelchair. She says mobility has been made easier for little Hanantonga. She also wished whomever had a hand in the facilitation of the wheelchair more of God`s blessings.

Here is Hanatonga with his wheelchair.  For his nutritional needs, he received 10 kg of soya meal, 3 kg of sugar, and 1 kg of salt.  He looks so small in the big chair, but totally adorable and completely happy!  Thank you, all who made this possible for Hanatonga!!  I see lots of get togethers with him and his friends in his future! 

Christmas Distribution Post 8~ Video #2 Hanatonga and his wheelchair

Translation from Chim:
The lady in the video is saying Hanantonga attends the CHILDHOPE supported ECCDE center at Chalimbana. The wheelchair will make it much easier for Hanantonga to go to school. She said she can even send friends to escort him to school because transport has been found.
Putting him on her back has been very difficult because all the time, the boy had to be carried to get to school. She went on to say Hanantonga can now visit and play with his friends because he has transport. She told Hanatonga that the wheelchair was his and should be happy as she was. The lady wished CHILDHOPE and the donors who made this possible more of God`s blessings.

Christmas Distribution Post 7~ Video #1 Hanatonga and his wheelchair

I asked the lady in the video what her name was and she told me that she was Mainza Chibule. I asked her what relationship she had with Hanantonga. She told me that Hanantonga is the son of her younger sister. The lady says that she is very happy that Hanantonga received the wheelchair. She has been finding it difficult to look after Hanantonga before due to his condition. She will now be able to look after him better because the wheel chair has been provided. When he was young it was easier to put him on her back. Now that he has grown it has always been very difficult to carry him that way.

A Little Guy with a Big Dream

Check out this cute little guy!! Hanatonga is in preschool, and as you can see, he loves the sponsorship program!! Looking at him in the pictures, you can see there is something a little different in his appearance compared to the other children in his village. His arms and legs are extremely skinny, and equally alarming is that instead of standing on the dirt ground, he must sit on it!

You see, something went wrong. His mother is not sure what happened when he was born, but she thinks something happened at birth. Baby Hanatonga did not reach the normal milestones, rolling over, crawling, walking, running... In fact, every movement he made seemed to take a lot of effort.

Now that is has grown up some and moved on to preschool, he still can't run and play with his friends. You see, not only can Hanatonga not walk, he still can't even crawl. He must watch from the sidelines as the children around him play soccer, tag, and other preschool games. In order to get to school, his sister carries him all the way (talk about sisterly love!!)

There is hope for him on the horizon, if there are hearts willing to help. For $500, Hanatonga can become mobile and almost independent- that is the cost of a child's size wheelchair. As he gets older (and if he does start to grow bigger), maybe in his late teenage years, he would then need a larger wheelchair. For now, $500 is all it will take to make this little guy's dream of playing and independence a reality!!
