“Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.” -Dale Carnegie (1888-1955)
Maurren is a sweet girl who is in need of a sponsor. She has been enjoying the sponsorship program for 8 months. She has received school supplies, items for her preschool class, a hygiene kit, shoes, etc. Her sponsor was unable to keep sponsoring her, so we are looking for a new sponsor for her. Maurren is especially concerned that she will not be able to go to first grade next year. Without a sponsor, she will not be sent to school because she has no one to pay her school fees.
Maurren was featured in a video here: http://childhopezambia.blogspot.com/2010/05/meet-maureen.html

Masaka family video
Translation by Chim:
I asked the lady what relationship she had with the children in the video. She told me that the children in the video were hers. She told me that the child in mixed color dress (sleeveless) was Mary Masaka doing grade 2 at Simwaba basic school. The girl in red T-shirt is Elizabeth Masaka doing grade 1 at Simwaba basic school. Asked what help the children need in school. She told me that the children require school fees, school uniforms, books etc. She said she would appreciate someone who could also help feed the children. Concerning the health of the children, the lady said that malaria affected her children most of the time. Mary has a problem with her eyes. She said she would also appreciate someone who would help with the health of her children including education.

Chim asked the girl her name was and what grade she was in. She told him she was Maureen doing her 2nd grade at Simwaba basic school. She stays with her grandmother. Asked how we would help her in school and she said she wanted us to find a sponsor to help her grandmother in purchasing her uniform, books, pencils, shoes and food.
